Born in Cordisburgo, Brazil, he is a film director, illustrator, publisher, music producer and guitarist. He has a degree in journalism and also studied film at the Escola Livre de Cinema in Belo Horizonte. He founded the ‘Arte e Vocação’ social project, a series of mobile film workshops held throughout Brazil. His short film A retirada para um coração bruto has screened at festivals around the world. Alma Bandida (The Hooligan Soul) has screened on Berlinale 2018 and Hong Kong Film Festival.
Alma Bandida (The Hooligan Soul) is about passion. A passion that of so strong materializes itself to become an extravagant allegory. The film subtly brings with it the incompatibility between people. At the same time I created the film as a metaphor for Brazil and its people. A passionate, suffering people that is poorly inter- preted, but never fails to fight for their dreams. A Brazil that rises from the bottom of the pit.
