The most celebrated brass band festival in Europe is in GUCA. Paradoxically, it is a backwoods village located in the very heart of Serbia, but it beats with a passion and rhythm that unites the whole world. An entire region is a unique place where East meets West and the North borders with the South. The Celtic rhythm, a southern warmth, the Latin romanticism, and the Slavic sentimentality is present everywhere. It radiates within the culture, the food, the people and the music.
A filmmaker with a curious take on life, always searching for the “other side” as a constant riddle that needs to be solved. For him, realism doesn’t merely exist. It has to be created.
Igor Stephen Rados was born in Belgrade, Serbia. He has lived with his family in Toronto, Canada since 1988. He graduated in Business Accounting at George Brown College in 1994, Liberal Studies at York University in 1996, and Film Production in 1999.
