Meera
This Gujarati Feature Film tells the story of Meera, an illiterate widow.
Due to the atrocities of the men of the male dominated society, Meera’s life becomes hellish.
Married happily to Nirmal in the early stages of her life, Meera was in love and her life passed effortlessly without any hindrance. But at times, life becomes harsh. The same thing happened to Meera, her world collapsed; She lost her husband tragically.
As time went on, Meera now raised a voice against social oppression. Meera became self-reliant through self-employment, inspiring and making thousands of other disabled, uneducated and widowed women self-reliant and setting a self-respecting example of women’s empowerment. She went on and made a fortune through the help of Dairy Co-operative Society and contributed majorly in Milk Production, and set a great example of entrepreneurship for her fellow villagers. This film is inspired by Milk Co-operative Movement also known as White Revolution in India.
Meera sets an exemplary lesson of Women Empowerment and Self Reliance for the oppressive-minded misogynistic villagers.
